I picked up a gorgeous bag of freshly picked swiss chard from Murray's Garden (you read that correctly, they now sell produce from their local organic farm, Murray Meadows!). I got home and stared at the swiss chard. I was stumped. The only thing I ever really did with chard was stir fry it, but I was feeling far more adventurous, so I fired up the barbecue and away I went.
Tonight's supper was inspired by the lovely blog "The Garden Grazer". Unfortunately my inability to follow recipes means that I have to give you my version of her recipe.
First let me tell you that this was a tasty meal. All hands on board agreed. I'm a huge lover of lime and this recipe certainly brings enough tang to the table to satisfy my lime tooth (ah, can I copyright that one?).
I've had a busy morning full of meetings and running errands. I got home around 12:15 pm and was absolutely famished. I looked in the refrigerator and was faced with a bag of spinach that was one day away from going bad. I needed something healthy, fast, and spinach-y. So I reached for my go-to meal: Pita Pizza.
It's official. Kids are back to school, adults are back to work; summer vacation is over. It's time for the dreaded task of packing lunches for the whole family. To ease the pain I'd like to share one of my favourite recipes: Chickpea Spinach Salad with Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette. This recipe lets you hold on to the happy days of summer - with its bright colours and fresh, aromatic scent - but provides a tasty, healthy option for any meal or snack.
